Altrusa commits $1,000 to reading

the third consecutive annual donation to the charity which provides specialised tutoring to people with reading difficulties.
Altrusa collected the funds from spare change belonging to its 32 members and their friends and relatives.
"We chose the Reading Clinic because of their wonderful work with the children,'' said Marion Cumming of Altrusa.
Reading Clinic director Janet Kemp told The Royal Gazette that the funds will be applied to expanding its programmes. The Reading Clinic caters to about 60 clients of all ages, many of whom suffer from dyslexia. It employs 30 qualified tutors on a part-time basis.
