Four injured in head-on crash
Two vehicles collided early Sunday morning causing injury to all passengers.
Around 3:35 a.m. Police attended the scene at the junction of Dundonald Street and Cedar Avenue in Pembroke involving a car and an SUV. It appeared that the car was travelling along Dundonald Street and the SUV was travelling along Cedar Avenue when the vehicles collided.
The driver of the car, a 29-year-old St. George's woman, sustained cuts to her left hand and pain in her right shoulder. The car's passengers, two 28 year old Devonshire women, sustained pain to the left shoulder and a cut to the left hand as well as pain to the left arm respectively. The driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old St. George's man, sustained pain to his chest and neck.
Both vehicles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
NCL ship to visit from Boston
A Norwegian Cruise Line ship will visit Bermuda from Boston once a week throughout the summer.
Boston Business Journal reported that one of the liner's newer ships, the Norwegian Spirit, would be used for the 21 cruises, which will leave Massachusetts Port each Friday until September 18.
Port director Mike Leone told the journal: "We are thrilled to have Norwegian Spirit kick off our 2009 cruise season. The new weekly departure on Fridays lets passengers enjoy an uninterrupted weekend aboard the ship."
Cash stolen from Paget home
A quantity of cash was stolen from a Paget residence.
Police attended the Trimingham's Hill residence where it appeared that sometime overnight an unknown culprit broke into the home and stole the cash.
Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Later that evening a man was chased out of a Pembroke residence by the occupants.
Police attended the Marsh Folly Road residence shortly after 10.30 p.m. where the complainants said that she and her family returned home to find an unknown man exiting the premises.
Some of the family members gave chase, however, the culprit – who looked to be in his 40s – was able to escape with a laptop computer.
