Skipper Romaine top of the charts

Irving Romaine

Bermuda skipper Irving Romaine again led from the front with the bat during his team?s successful tour of Canada.

The aggressive right-handed batsman scored a combined 284 runs in only four visits to the crease at an average of 71 runs per innings.

Romaine also scored Bermuda?s first century on tour (101) against Canada, his second international century and second achieved at the Toronto Cricket Club in a year.

He also set a new Intercontinental Cup batting partnership record of 108 runs for the third-wicket along with Clay Smith, while his bowling figures of three for 16 against Cayman Islands was the best return by a Bermuda bowler on tour alongside Hasan Durham?s four for 45 against Canada and Ryan Steede?s four for 127 against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup.

Next high man with the bat was allrounder Lionel Cann who tallied 253 runs at an average of 63.25 runs per innings.

Cann also produced one of three Bermuda centuries on tour, while his whirlwind unbeaten knock of 139 eclipsed Clay Smith?s previous Bermuda best of 138 set a year ago against Cayman Islands in Toronto.

Cann also established a massive 202-run partnership record for the second-wicket along with Kwame Tucker against Argentina in the Americas Championship Tournament.

Clay Smith scored 192 runs in five innings at an average of 38.4 runs per innings and a high score of 84 achieved off 225 balls in 300 minutes against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup.

Fellow Bermuda allrounder Janeiro Tucker compiled 210 runs from six innings at an average of 35 runs per innings, and had a tour best 79 against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup.

Late addition to the team, wicketkeeper/batsman Kwame Tucker, scored 125 runs from four visits to the crease at an average of 31.2 runs per innings with a personal best even 100 ? his first century wearing a Bermuda jersey ? against Argentina in the Americas Championship.

Tucker is also believed to be the first Bermuda opening batsman to bat through an entire 50 overs match, a feat he achieved against Argentina.

Tucker also executed one stumping and gloved eight catches behind the stumps after replacing Dean Minors following the Intercontinental Cup series against Canada. And for his superb efforts Tucker was voted as the best wicketkeeper for the Americas tournament.

Opener Stephen Outerbridge also impressed with the bat at the top of the order where he scored 184 runs at an average of 30.6 and a high score of 96 against Cayman Islands.

He also scored 44 against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup and was voted best fielder of the tournament.

Allrounder Saleem Mukuddem managed 125 runs at an average of 25 and a personal best on tour of 56 against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup.

Mukuddem held the most catches (four) while Dwayne Leverock and skipper Romaine teach had three.

Fast bowler George O?Brien jr claimed the most wickets (eight) in five limited overs appearances overall.
