Miss Smith’s, Teja Watson wins Little Miss Paradise pageant
Miss Smith’s Teja Watson was this week crowned Little Miss Paradise 2011.The bi-annual pageant took place at City Hall Theatre on Wednesday night.The winner was one of seven contestants. Miss St George’s, Asia Seymour, was named first runner-up; Miss Southampton, Zy-Asia Forbes, was named Miss Photogenic and second runner-up; Miss Warwick, Aaliyah Lee, was named Miss Congeniality.Other participants were Miss Devonshire, Daeshanae Young; Miss Sandys, Samaria Pitt and Miss Paget, Keturah Bulford-Trott.Pageant co-founder and organiser Diana DeRoza said it was a tight competition, with only one point separating the top three.To be successful, the contestants aged between eight and 11 years old, had to show outstanding poise, be able to answer pre-set questions and demonstrate a special talent.The girls also had to select a charity they were willing to represent during their two-year reign as Little Miss Paradise.Teja pledged her support of cancer charity PALS, which she said assisted both of her great-grandparents before they passed away.
