Chavon Furbert scored a double hat-trick as Rude Girls sent an emphatic message to the rest of the teams in this year's women's football league -- it's going to be a long season.

The most successful side in women's soccer again proved that they are simply the best as they ran riot over PHC in the season-opening Charity Cup final.

Within five minutes of the kick-off, Rude Girls were ahead when Furbert met a cross from the right with a shot that left the hapless PHC 'keeper no chance.

The goals would come fast and furious from then on.

Furbert ran circles around PHC's young defence, scoring practically at will.

Her second goal came after 15 minutes when she collected the ball from about 10 yards in front of the half-way line, made a 15-yard run, and unleashed a high floating shot from about 30 yards out which beat the 'keeper.

She then made another dazzling run, beat two defenders and crossed for Shivon Washington to put Rude Girls 3-0 ahead.

PHC pulled a goal back through Tasha Bean from close range. But Rude Girls were in full stride, and within minutes their three goal advantage was restored by Washington with a shot from the right which 'keeper Tene Rabain couldn't hold.

Furbert quickly completed her hat-trick and before the end of the half, Catherine Clarke unleashed an unstoppable shot from 30 yards out, and Furbert tucked in a short pass from Niketa Dill on the right to make it 6-1.

Ten minutes after the restart Clarke was brought down just inside the box, and captain Sakena Clarke stepped up to convert the penalty.

PHC replied soon after with Raynesha Bean who fired a low low shot into the left corner. But that was to be the last of their celebrations.

The game coasted along until Erica Russell scored a well deserved goal with a neat shot from five yards out.

And Furbert scored two more, including another 30 yarder, before PHC missed a somewhat controversial penalty.
