Cleveland 100-3 Cleveland bounced back from the disappointment of defeat in the Eastern Counties on Saturday by beating First Division Open leaders Flatts by seven wickets at Devonshire Rec. on Sunday to take over top spot.

Flatts could only manage 99 in their final Open match and Cleveland replied with 100-3. Jason Simons and Curtis Jackson were the pick of the Cleveland bowlers while Jackson scored 41 not out in the run chase and Allan Douglas 30.

The defeat eliminated Flatts from what was a four-team promotion push as they slipped to third in the standings with no games remaining.

Warwick 141 Devonshire Rec 142-2 Devonshire Rec. moved from fourth to second in the standings, two points ahead of former leaders Flatts, after this comfortable eight-wicket win over Warwick at Southampton Oval.

After an opening stand of 43 the home team could only manage 141 with opener Daniel Caines and Johnny Nusum their high men with 27 each while Ritchie Foggo scored 23.

Captain Anthony Amory led the Devonshire bowling with three for 18 while Leon Place took two for 26 and Dexter Smith two for 25.

Smith then completed the team's fourth win in five matches with an unbeaten 69, from which 50 came in boundaries.

Smith and Donald Norford added 63 for the first wicket before Smith went off injured after being hit on the knee.

Lloyd Morrison was out first ball, lbw to Hoyt Zuill, and Leon Place scored just seven before he fell lbw to Alan Wilkinson when the total was 81.

That left Norford and the returning Smith to score the remaining runs for victory, taking the score from 81 to 142. Norford completed his own 50, hitting 58 not out from eight fours and a six.

Somerset 257 PHC 179 Shaun Roberts hammered 88 before being run out and then Craig Brangman claimed five for 46 as Somerset defeated PHC by 78 runs at Somerset.

PHC, the home team, had Somerset in early trouble at 8-2, but a third wicket stand of 72 between Steven Mendes (25) and Roberts laid the foundation for the Somerset recovery. Runs also came in the tailend where wicketkeeper Kelly Simmons scored 38 and Michael Donawa 24 not out.

Captain Cal Waldron was the high man for PHC with 42 while Kevin Dill scored 41.
