Unbeaten Colts looking to continue their streak
Premier Division leaders Devonshire Colts put their unbeaten streak on the line when they travel west tomorrow to take on fourth-placed Somerset Trojans.
Last weekend a late strike from the ever dangerous Aljame Zuill saw Colts extend their fine early season form as they came away from White Hill Field with maximum points against Somerset Eagles to move one point clear of Dandy Town at the top of the table.
Ray Jones' side may view tomorrow's league clash as an ideal warm-up ahead of next week's Martonmere Cup semi-final against Devonshire Cougars.
During the last encounter between these two rivals, Colts came away with a 2-1 Martonmere Cup win thanks to a stunning early second-half blast from former Trojan Steven Mendes which dampened Somerset's first outing of the season.
That goal still remains fresh in the minds of die-hard Trojan fans and Mendes can hardly expect a warm welcome when he returns for tomorrow's clash against his former team, who will also be viewing this match as a warm-up for their own Martonmere Cup semi-final against PHC next Tuesday.
Fifth-placed Devonshire Cougars and last-placed defending league champions North Village battled it out last night at Devonshire Rec.
Second placed Dandy Town, meanwhile, take on Boulevard who will be looking for their second successive win tonight at BAA Field.
Town, who demonstrated last week that they are still a force to be reckoned with after an impressive 3-0 shutout of Cougars at the Den, will be looking to keep pace with Colts or even move into sole possession of the top spot.
Elsewhere tomorrow, Somerset Eagles will be looking to bounce back from last week's 2-1 loss to Colts when they host PHC Zebras at White Hill Field.
But their task will not be easy against a Zebras squad coming off an inspiring 2-0 defeat of the Trojans last weekend.
Turning to the First Division, surprise league leaders St.George's host Social Club at Wellington Oval while second-placed Hamilton Parish tackle an unpredictable Southampton Rangers at Southampton Oval.
Third-placed Ireland Rangers should pick up maximum points against current Dudley Eve champions Wolves at Malabar and St.David's should likewise seize their first win of the season when they host Prospect at Lord's.
