Part-time students out number full-time at Bermuda College three to one
There are three times as many part-time students as full-time at the Bermuda College, according to data released by the Education Minister.Dame Jennifer Smith responded in the House of Assembly to parliamentary questions posed by Shadow Education Minister Grant Gibbons.She said: “The total number of full-time students enrolled at Bermuda College in September 2010 was 295. The total number of full-time students enrolled at Bermuda College in January 2011 was 271.“The total number of part-time students enrolled at Bermuda College in September was 1018. The total number of part-time students enrolled at Bermuda College in January 2011 was 939.”According to a chart handed to MPs, there are 43 full-time staff at the college and 31 part-time staff.This includes six full-time staff in the applied science and technology department and three part-time staff members.In the liberal arts faculty there are 24 full-time staff and 17 part-time staff.In the division of business there are 11 full-time staff members and nine part-time members; while in hospitality department there are two full-time faculty and two part-time.
