Covid-19: two new cases off flight from Atlanta
Two cases of the coronavirus were found after airport arrival tests, the Government said today.
The positive tests were among 526 results that came back to health officials yesterday.
A health department spokesman said that the new cases were on a flight from Atlanta on Tuesday.
He added both people had taken pre-departure tests.
The spokesman said: “Case isolation and contact tracing has begun.”
Bermuda has had 226 confirmed cases and 17 are active with none in hospital.
A total of nine people with Covid-19 have died and 200 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
The number of cases from overseas is 113, 92 were on-island transmissions with a known contact and 21 were on-island transmissions with an unknown contact.
Bermuda’s country status remains at “sporadic cases”.
The seven-day average of the island’s real time reproduction number is less than 1.
