Dame Jennifer congratulates Earth Hour essay winners

Earth Hour wasn’t just about switching off the lights: young Bermudians also contributed their thoughts on how to make the Island a greener place.A student essay contest in conjunction with the event was sponsored by Belco, Greenrock and the Bermuda National Library, Youth Services. Contest winners were congratulated by Education Minister Jennifer Smith yesterday.Dame Jennifer told the students: “I am delighted to celebrate your achievement, and I urge you to continue to strive for excellence in whatever you choose to do. You are the future of this Country.”Students from across the Island got certificates, with the Minister giving special congratulations to four CedarBridge students Charnae Richardson, Kamel Easton, Jair Duke and Sherrita Bailey who took winning spots.Useful web link: –www.earthhour.org.
