BA cuts fares to London
A headline in yesterday's newspaper incorrectly stated that British Airways is offering reduced fares to London from Bermuda. The fares are for round-trip flights from London to Bermuda.
British Airways is slashing fares for round trip London-Bermuda flights. Fares for May 1-31 will be 349 (about $558) midweek, and 379 (about $606) weekends.
Tickets for June 1-30 will be 369 ($590) midweek, and 399 ($638) weekends.
Local BA manager, Mr. Philip Troake: "All bookings must be completed by May 3 with payment and ticketing made within 48 hours of reservation. Other restrictions apply.'' Mr. Troake continued: "We know many people purchase tickets locally for friends and relatives travelling from the UK.
"As our fourth weekly flight commences on June 4, we are sure that many people will want to take advantage of the extremely popular Sunday flight with this bargain promotion.'' The lower fares are part of a BA price-cutting spree for dozens of flights out of London -- known as "world offers''.
"It is good news to have Bermuda included yet again in the latest wave of `World Offers', '' said Mr. Troake.
POLICE INVESTIGATE BURGLARIES CRM Police investigate seven burglaries Police are investigating seven reports of breaking and entering offences which took place earlier this week.
Two of the incidents occurred at a Paget guest house between Monday and Tuesday.
Separate units at the guest house were entered and jewellery and valuable other property were stolen from visitors.
During the same period of time, Police also received five reports of thefts.
One occurred at a shop on Cambridge Road, Sandys Parish when the shop assistant was at the back of the premises.
Two men entered the shop, opened the unattended cash register, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
LAST MARYLAND COURSES TO START EDC Last Maryland courses to start Registration is nearly completed for the final term of the University of Maryland at the US Naval Air Station.
The university is leaving with the Navy, which pulls out on September 1.
The final term, which runs from May 1 to June 15, includes courses in race relations and public law, conflict resolution and mediation, advanced expository writing, modern drama, and consumer analysis.

TOURISM TAKES TO THE AIR TOU Tourism takes to the air Bermuda's popular tourism spots, including golf courses, beaches, and hotels will be filmed from a helicopter over the next two days.
And the Tourism Department is seeking the public's cooperation.
The department, which arranged the aerial filming, said the project will begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow and Friday.
The footage will be used for a new Tourism promotional video.
The Tourism department apologised for any inconvenience the filming may cause.
WOMAN ASSAULTED IN DEVONSHIRE CRM Woman assaulted in Devonshire Police are investigating a report of an assault on a 21-year-old Devonshire woman.
The woman told Police a male acquaintance assaulted her at her residence and used a blunt object to inflict facial injuries to her.
FLEA MARKET ON SUNDAY MIL Flea market on Sunday A flea market is to be held on Sunday at the front gate of the US Naval Air Station.
The flea market, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is being sponsored by the Base branch of the Bermuda Feline Advisory Bureau.
