BKI celebrate 26th Open Championships

THE Bermuda Karate Institute celebrated its 26th Bermuda Open Karate Championships last weekend at Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

Underbelt forms grand champions in the novice under 10 category were Nezhii Spencer (boys) and Alexis Trott (girls).

Kori Jackman was first among advanced boys 10-15 for open hand form, with Kaelin Cox second.

For the advanced men's sparring, Jashun Thomas was first, followed by Khalid Pitcher and Damian Wilson.

Thomas finished in the grand champion position for fighting when senior default winner Andre Joseph had to forfeit due to injury.

Spectators were also treated to an educational demonstration of Muay Thai by Ray Sillar and students from BKI.

Exhibiting at the Wellness Show were the Healing Center of Bermuda, Kolours Thai Massage, Curves, the Center for Integrated Healing, Nijameco International, 24 Hour Fitness Gym, Positive Results Personal Training Studio and New Life Chiropractic.
