KYM Whitley is on a mission to make Bermuda laugh.

The presenter of BET's Oh Drama! is on the island to give a stand-up routine at the City Hall tonight and tomorrow night in A Belly Full of Laughs.

Bermuda and its people will be the target of some of the American comic's humour, when she takes to the stage in Hamilton.

Ms Whitley arrived here on Tuesday and said she'd seen plenty from which to draw comic inspiration.

"It will be somewhere between family, risque, everyday life, relationships," she said. "I'll talk a lot about Bermuda, what I've seen when I've walked around and seen things and people.

"The British accents, the black people with green eyes - that's been amazing to me. I was thinking, what kind of country is this, I thought everybody was wearing contacts."

The show is produced by actress Robin Givens and her sister Stephanie Givens and will also feature Bermuda's own Nadanja Bailey, as well as three comics who have appeared on BET's Comedy View, Special K Douglas, Ronnie Jordan and Angelo Dundee.

The show started last night and tickets are available from the City Hall box office, costing $35 each.
