Mental health in focus
Mental Health Week has been officially launched at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute (MAWI) by the Minister of Health Nelson Bascome.
A proclamation, read by the Minister, highlighted the role and responsibilities of the mental health facility in maintaining best practices.
Mr. Bascome also reaffirmed the high standard in which mental health should be treated and the need for volunteer services at the institute.
In addition to this week's opening ceremony, week-long activities were announced including a learning luncheons at MAWI and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), a radio appearance on Hott 1075 and a Recreational Therapy Activities Day.
