Premier leads delegation to women’s conference
Premier Paula Cox and a group of local businesswomen are now at a leadership forum in the US.The International Woman’s Forum World Leadership Conference in Washington DC attracts female leaders from around the world.US Consul Grace Shelton, Education Minister Dame Jennifer Smith, Shadow Tourism Minister Patricia Gordon-Pamplin and Shadow Seniors Minister Louise Jackson joined Ms Cox on the privately-funded trip.Business Bermuda CEO Cheryl Packwood, MarketPlace owner Pamela Ferreira, Government consultant Renee Webb, designer Dana Cooper, Argus CEO Allison Hill and Northrock Communications general manager Vicki Coelho were also to attend.The IWF is expected to make a decision with respect to Bermuda’s application to become a member of the organisation, a Government spokesman said.The organisation is dedicated to advancing female leadership by bringing preeminent women together.“This is a one-of-a-kind organisation of singular standing in the world today that furthers dynamic leadership, leverages global access and maximises opportunities for women to exert their influence,” the spokesman said.“The IWF brings together an unprecedented global membership to exchange ideas, to learn and inspire and to promote better leadership for a changing world.”The forum, which started yesterday, ends on Friday.
