A Bermudian fire officer is being held on drug and immigration charges in the US.Essex County Jail in New Jersey confirmed that Carl O Govia, 45, has been in custody since February 20.His charges are “possession and distribution, all out of Newark”, an official there said.The drug type and quantity and the nature of Mr Govia’s immigration charges, were not specified.The Bermuda Fire Service had no comment to make on the matter yesterday.
