And the public will have plenty of opportunities to see the Royal Couple during the 44-hour tour.

Her Majesty will visit both ends of the Island as well as carrying out duties in Hamilton.

Prince Philip will accompany her for much of the time but he will travel alone on certain occasions.

The Royal Party of around 40 people, accompanied by 20 members of the British press, arrive at the Civil Air Terminal at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8.

Within 25 minutes of landing they will be in St. George's to visit the Town Hall and then the first "walkabout'' will begin. This means the Queen and Prince Philip will walk around King's Square talking to people in the crowd.

Her Majesty will then unveil a plaque at the Tucker House and the National Trust Archaeology Museum.

While she is at Tucker House, Prince Philip will be driven to the Bermuda Biological Station for Research where he will meet children involved in the Jason Project.

That evening the Queen will award New Year's Honours to 10 people at Government House before leaving for the Speaker's Dinner, which will be attended by 500 people at the Southampton Princess.

On the Wednesday the Royal Couple will arrive at City Hall and be taken on separate tours of the art galleries.

From there the Queen will travel to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and on to the Bermuda College.

While she is at the Hospital, Prince Philip will meet the Bishop of Bermuda the Rt. Rev. William Down at the Anglican Cathedral and view the restoration work. He will then join the Queen at the College where they will lunch at the Stonington Beach Hotel.

At the College the Duke will present Duke of Edinburgh Awards to 36 young people.

Her Majesty will travel to the Maritime Museum at Dockyard -- which she opened in 1975 -- before another walkabout in front of the Clock Tower. She will then sail, accompanied by a flotilla of boats, to the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.

Prince Philip will have arrived at the yacht club earlier and they will leave together for the final walkabout of the tour, at Albouy Point.

The Royal Couple will be transported to the Botanical Gardens to be entertained by local musicians and dancers.

In the evening there will be a private dinner at Government House, where the couple are staying during the visit.

They will leave on board a plane at the Civil Air Terminal at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10.

The tour marks the Queen's first visit to Bermuda in 19 years. Prince Philip was on the Island four years ago for his award scheme.

During the visit they will meet scores of Parliamentarians and officials of charities and businesses on the Island.

In case of wet weather changes will be made to the programme with walkabouts scraped and the Botanical Gardens event taking place in Mount St. Agnes Hall.
