Union meeting tomorrow means limited bus, ferry service

There will be limited bus and ferry service tomorrow between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. as the Bermuda Industrial Union (BIU) holds its general membership meeting.

Yesterday the Government issued the notice and apologised for any inconvenience that it would cause members of the public.

The public would be notified when the regular service resumes.

Tools stolen

A quantity of tools was stolen from a toolbox at a construction site last weekend.

The complainant told Police that sometime between 3 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, an unknown culprit broke into a building on Wesley Street in Pembroke and stole the tools from the site.

Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Seventeen vehicles stolen in the past week

Over the course of the week there have been 62 reported road traffic collisions of which 27 resulted in injury.

There were three people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and use care, caution and courtesy on the Island's roads.

During the past week there were 17 vehicles stolen.

The majority of the vehicles were in Pembroke, with eight vehicles taken. There were two vehicles each taken from St. George's, Warwick, Southampton and Sandys parishes with one vehicle taken from Hamilton Parish.

Most of the vehicles stolen were either auxiliary or motorcycles with one car and one pedal cycles stolen during this period.

Of the 17 vehicles reported stolen three were subsequently recovered.
