Police report 67 accidents and 23 vehicle thefts
Police statistics for the past week recorded 67 road traffic accidents, 21 of which resulted in injury. And four people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
Twenty-three vehicles taken without their owners' consent, 13 of which were removed from the Pembroke area, three from St. George's, two from Devonshire and one each from Hamilton Parish, Smith's, Warwick and Sandys.
Only one car was stolen. Most vehicles taken were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles. Five were subsequently recovered.
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to use care, caution and courtesy on the Island's roads.
Drivers were also warned that seatbelts must be used and motorcyclists told to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.
