April 23, 2012Dear Sir,Now as an ‘unofficial’ 80kph speed limit for motorcycles has been ‘silently’ accepted by the powers that be, it has taken no time at all for the most cavalier of our car owners to follow suit!So while the emergency services at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital had better prepare for an escalation of road fatalities, savings are bound to accrue by the long overdue sale of the police motorcycles! For as matters stand the motorcycle division has been dismally ineffective at curbing the blatant disregard by an in-disciplined and growing number of our road users who surely have to be rated amongst the worst in the western hemisphere?WILLIAM P SCOTTSouthampton
