Butterfield shares up 5%

Shares of Butterfield Bank rose $1.59, or 5 per cent, to $33.41, after 1,100 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
Somers Ltd was down nine cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $13.91, after 2,500 changed hands, while BF&M Ltd was down 25 cents, or 1.3 per cent, to $19 after 2,100 were exchanged.
There was also trading in 1,000 shares of One Communications Ltd, with no change to the closing price of $4.05.
On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were up 94 cents, or 2.83 per cent, to $34.16.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 75.86 points, or 3.7 per cent, to 2,125.77, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 46.08 points, or 2.91 per cent, to 1,632.1.
