Index reaches all-time high

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index reached an all-time high yesterday, gaining 96.33 points to close at 4,641.96.
On a light trading day Butterfield Bank gained $2 to close at $60 as investors traded in 11, 260 shares, a day after Butterfield Bank reported net income of $33.9 million for the second quarter June 30.
The other activity on the Exchange saw Bermuda Press Holdings trade in 5,000 shares to close unchanged at $14.25 and 1,900 Belco shares changed hands to close unchanged at $40.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $822,975.00 and the overall volume of shares was 18,160.
