with another impressive performance during Saturday's Open at the Bermuda College.

Frost again completed the double, defeating Derron Trott in the men's singles final and then teaming up with Dave Waltham to retain the men's doubles championship.

In the singles, Frost beat Trott 18-21, 21-6, 21-13, 21-17 while he and Waltham got past Calvin Butterfield and Trott in the doubles final, 21-17, 21-18, 18-21, 21-12.

The tournament enjoyed added quality this year with the return of former champion Cory Berkeley, youngster Hasan Durham and Philip Hackett, formerly a resident of Bermuda but now living in Barbados.

Also showing promise were Vernon Hassell of BPSA and newcomer Douglas Lang of Canada, both of whom are expected to be a force in league play in the future.

On his way to the singles final, Frost had an easy time against Myron Piper, winning 21-6, 21-14. But he had more trouble with Berkeley before winning 21-14, 21-14.

Then Frost had to come from behind to beat Waltham in the semi-final 20-22, 21-17, 21-14, 21-10.

Trott endured a rocky path to the final. In the first battle of southpaws, he came from behind to overcome Durham 15-21, 21-16, 21-14. He followed up by beating Perry Swan 21-11, 21-16 before taking on former champion Dexter Smith in a classic encounter. In what proved to the best match of the tournament, Trott won the first two games 21-14, 21-18 before Smith fought back to even things with wins of 21-16 and 21-15. In the crucial fifth game it was touch and go with the score at 11-11 before a series of accurate shots backed by good defensive work saw Trott move into the final with a 21-15 triumph.

In other notable games Waltham beat Harold Minors 21-14, 13-21, 21-14, Rawle Frederick beat Curtis Hodgson 23-21, 21-17; Dexter Smith beat Fredericks 21-16, 21-13; Smith beat Hackett 21-12, 22-20 and Vernon Hassell d Douglas Lang 21-13, 11-21, 21-12.
