Somerset and Bermuda footballer Rudy Minors dies

Iconic Somerset Trojans and Bermuda footballer Rudy Minors has died.The former fullback died yesterday following a long bout with illness at age 69.During his illustrious football career Minors formed part of Trojans' triple crown championship (First Division, Friendship Trophy and FA Cup) winning teams in the late 1960s and early 70s.He also made a number of appearances for Bermuda at the international level where he also performed his duties admirably.Former Trojans winger, Gladwin Lambert, recalled: “Rudy was an excellent defender and role model for the Somerset team. He was a person people respected because of his character and the way he carried himself.”
