Take in some stunning scenery during Palm Sunday Walk
The Bermuda National Trust is encouraging the public to get out their walking shoes and tap into their sense of adventure in time for its Palm Sunday Walk.Participants will get to explore beautiful sites in Devonshire on Sunday, starting at 2pm.The five-mile route begins at Elliot Primary School and will take approximately two hours to complete.Participants will get a map highlighting points of cultural interest along the way.“This year’s walk will travel through Bermuda’s largest marsh, beside arable land that has been farmed for centuries and along Devonshire’s wild and visually stunning southern coast,” said a spokesman for the Trust.“Walkers will see familiar views from new vantage points and discover hidden treasures of Devonshire’s nature reserves, woodlands and farmlands.”Alison Hill, CEO of event sponsor The Argus Group, said the company was “delighted” to support the walk.“The Bermuda National Trust has an important role to play in preserving the Island’s physical and cultural heritage for the enjoyment of future generations,” she said.“It is appropriate for Argus, as a local company with a long history, to partner with the Trust on working towards that mission. We encourage everyone to take part and get some exercise while enjoying the scenery that makes Bermuda so special,” she said.People are urged to wear sensible shoes; the route is not suitable for strollers or dogs.Motorists travelling along Middle Road, Vesey Street, Barker’s Hill and South Road in Devonshire on Sunday are asked to drive with care.
