Recruit Camp set to start on January 13

Around 150 new soldiers are expected at the Regiment's annual Recruit Camp, which begins on January 13.

They will work 18-hour days during the two-week camp learning drill, weapons handling, live firing and basic military skills. They will also be educated about the Regiment's history and role and have access to information from agencies such as the National Training Board and National Drug Commission.

Recruits must attend Warwick Camp this Saturday, January 5, to receive their kit and complete outstanding administrative procedures. They will have been told what time to arrive during enlistment nights. On January 13, soldiers should report to Warwick Camp in time for a prompt 8 a.m start.

Regiment spokesman Stephen Caton encouraged members of the public to be mindful of closures to the Warwick beaches during live firing and training exercises. He also invited visitors to the Warwick Camp Open House on Saturday January 26 at 2 p.m.
