benefits of rest

Getting enough sleep is important for your health and well-being.

1) Sharper Memory — Do you find yourself forgetting important things very quickly and constantly? A way to help with your memory is by getting enough rest. When you are constantly on the go with little to no rest it will affect the mind cognitively and you will not be as alert as you can be with a good night’s sleep. Rest is important for the brain to think actively.2) Reduces Stress — We can better cope with stress when we are well rested. When under stressful conditions and not enough rest the stress will build and it will even seem like the situation is worst when really the lack of sleep is adding to the stress.3) Good Mood — Depression runs high on a body that is drained and on burnout. Have you ever felt depressed after a time you haven’t had much sleep or rest? It’s OK to stop working to relax. Constantly staying up all night, whether it is for work or leisure can leave you anxious and down the next morning.4) Stronger Immune System — Sometimes sickness is a form of a lack of rest. It can simply mean that the body is being neglected and the immune system is now weak. Often times doctors recommend rest and sleep when one is ill. Rest can help to restore the body.5) Productivity — We can have more productive days when our energy level is up. It is much easier to accomplish more when we feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
