Five men in Magistrates' over assault on officers

Before the court were Kyle Desmond Baxter, 20, of Bobs Valley Road; Kenith Clifton Bulford, 20, of Oriel Lane; Jermaine Edward Butterfield, 21, of Cambridge Road; Curtis Anthony Grant, 23, of Tween Walls; and Terrence N.

Thomas, 22, of Cricket Lane.

Their charges related to an incident at Sandys on August 27.

Bulford pleaded not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon, namely a plank of wood with a nail protruding from it.

He also denied escaping custody and assaulting a Policeman.

In addition, Bulford, Butterfield and Thomas denied assaulting a Police officer in an attempt to resist the arrest of Curtis Grant.

Baxter pleaded not guilty to using offensive words, and Grant denied using threatening words, and assaulting a Police officer in order to resist being arrested.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis bailed the men and adjourned the case for trial on January 27.
