Two publications, USA Today and Travel and Leisure Golf magazine have featured the Island in recent editions.

Whilst the Travel and Leisure article highlights the various golf courses around the Island during a winter vacation, USA Today reports on efforts being made to reinvent the destination.

Jerry Shriver emphasised the renovations taking place the Fairmont Princess Hotels, the attractions of the new Hotels Concession Act and the new Daniel's Head eco-rsort.

In Travel and Leisure, writer Alan Shipnuck visited many of the golf courses and tried his hand at diving. His story is spread over 12 pages in the November/December edition of the magazine.

The doors will open at 10 p.m. and the concert will run "until''.

A spokesman for Magnum Force said last night: "If you look young you better have your ID. Under 18s will not be admitted.

"But for those of you that are over 18, like the song says, `shake it fast!','' he added. "Just come out and party and have a good time -- no fussing, no fighting, just togetherness for the music.'' HANDBAG SNATCHER CAUGHT CRM Handbag snatcher caught Police managed to snatch a thief off the roads only moments after he stole a woman's handbag from her bike's rear basket yesterday morning.

The victim was riding on North Shore Road in Pembroke at 8.50 a.m. when the culprit rode up behind her on a black cycle, picked the bag from the basket and escaped.

She contacted Police who immediately set up a perimeter around the area and, based on a good description, spotted the victim at Blackwatch Pass.

The man tried to escape but was apprehended at Stepney Lane shortly after 9 a.m.

The cycle he was riding at the time of the theft was found to be stolen and as a result of further investigations all other property was recovered.

He is being held in custody and is assisting Police with other inquires.

A Police spokesperson said: "Central CID is appealing for any witnesses to this incident, particularly those who were traveling on a nearby public bus at the time.

A six horsepower outboard engine was stolen from a boatyard in Pitt's Bay, Pembroke over the weekend.

A collection of CDs was taken from a car parked on Valley Road, Paget on Monday.

And a red and white rainjacket and toolkit were stolen from a cycle parked on Hermitage Road, Devonshire, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday.
