Palm Sunday Walk.

An estimated 2,300 gathered in the West End for the seven mile trek which started in the US Naval Annex car park in Southampton at 2 p.m.

The route, described as a figure of eight with Somerset Bridge in the middle, took walkers to the new Government park on Hog Bay Level, The Parapet -- home of Mr. Stewart Mott which is near Fort Scaur -- and the Wreck Hill estate of entrepreneur Mr. Robert Stigwood.

Refreshments were served on both properties.
