Storm players to receive title rings

Last season's Island Soccer League (ISL) champions Storm will receive their championship rings tonight when the 2009 season kicks off with a double-header at the National Sports Centre .

Matches are also scheduled for tomorrow.

The Storm, managed by Andrew Bascome, will be looking to add a second trophy to their cabinet when they begin their title defence tomorrow against Apex. But before they take to the field, they will first receive their reward for a successful 2008 season.

Among those returning for the team are key players Ajani Gibbons and Angelo Simmons, who were protected from the draft, and both of whom have been on every championship winning team since the inception of the league.

Last year's runners-up, Union, will get the ball rolling on the new season when they tackle Kings in the first game tonight, while Arsenal will square off against Royal in the second game.

Tomorrow's matches start at 10 a.m. with champions Storm facing Apex while Knights meet Titans at noon.

The afternoon games will see Arsenal play Union at 4 p.m. and the Kings will finish off the first weekend of action in a match against Royal at 6 p.m.
