BREAKING NEWS: Former Auditor General awarded CBE
Former Auditor General Larry Dennis has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
Mr. Dennis will receive the honour for services to good governance, 31 years’ dedication to his role and “efforts to improve public accountability”.
Also to be distinguished is Olga May Scott, wife of former Premier Alex Scott, who will receive an OBE for services to the community. She is praised for 35 years’ dedication to young people, particularly teenage mothers, through Youth Health Education Development (Teen Services).
Wendi Nixon-Fiedler will also receive the MBE for services to Government, private organisations and NGOs. A Government spokeswoman said: “As owner and manager of Panatel, a multi-media production company for the past 26 years, she has captured and preserved segments of Bermuda’s culture and history. Her work has also created valuable educational tools and resources.”
The following people are to receive Queen’s Certificates and Badges of Honour: Joan Marie Burgess; Victoria Smith; Janice Warner; WO2 Phillip Bernard Pitman, LSM, EM; WO1 (RSM Ret) Sherwyn Richardson; and Lt Commander Dwayne Trott.
