Dennis Russell again scored twice...but this time in a losing cause at Bernard Park.

Social Club, who beat Cougars 3-2 in the Shield semi-final, were sunk by a goal by Cougars' 18-year-old substitute Kassa Richardson in the 79th minute when he netted from a left-wing cross.

And with Ireland Rangers only managing a 1-1 draw with bottom club Paget, Cougars were able to move level on points with the leaders in what is shaping up to be a tight promotion race.

Shaun Smith scored for Cougars from the penalty spot in the eighth minute before the 16-year-old Russell equalised in the 12th. The youngster then scored agains from a penalty in the 24th minute before an own goal by Troy Lewis right on half-time enabled Cougars to get back on level terms.

It stayed that way until late in the game when Richardson netted the winner.

Ireland Rangers 1 Paget 1 Rangers had to settle for a draw against bottom team Paget at Malabar Field as things tightened up between the top three.

Paget led with a goal in the first half through Chris Wright and it wasn't until early in the second half that Rangers finally equalised when Duane DeRosa netted from the penalty spot.

"We got into positions but just couldn't execute. It's going to be close, it is in our hands and it's not over by a long shot,'' said Rangers coach Mike Corday.

Prospect 1 Ham.Parish 8 Hamilton Parish could still make a bid for the second promotion spot after their biggest win of the season at Police Field enabled them to move to within four points of the leaders.

Corey Hill, Sean Dill, Alvin Baker and Damon Edwards all netted twice as Parish proved too strong for second-from-bottom Prospect.

St. George's 1 Som.Eagles 1 Player-coach Neil Paynter helped to clinch a point for St. George's with a shot that deflected off Eagles player Sean Dill in the 89th minute at Wellington Oval. Eagles had taken the lead midway through the second half through Darren Dowling after a Sean Dill cross.
