Lucas and Matheus back by popular demand
They?re returning soon ? by popular demand.
Yes, international duo and recording artists, Lucas and Matheus are again poised to do take local fans of Brazilian music by storm, as they did in 2005, and indeed wherever they appear.
Sponsored by DeMello Entertainment, the dynamic brothers will appear in concert at City Hall theatre on Saturday, February 17, beginning at 8 p.m.
Although they sing in Portuguese, and therefore have a large and devoted following wherever Portuguese communities exist, the international language of music has won them broad audience appeal, and Bermuda proved no exception.
?They are huge in Portugal, where all of their CDs have gone straight to the top of the hit parade,? Eddy DeMello, owner of DeMello Productions said.
?Throughout that country, various regions and towns hold feasts all during the year, and in 2003 they were voted ?Most Popular Group? by a consensus of all the organisers.
They also appear regularly on Radio Television Portugal (RTP), and have done specials in their native Brazil as well.?
The brothers sing to their own guitar and track accompaniment. Their repertoire is largely romantic, and this, coupled with their personal charisma, guarantees a special listening experience.
In fact, Mr. DeMello says their music is so infectious that audience participation is not only encouraged but almost a given.
?We are delighted to be able to bring Lucas and Matheus back again, as they were a resounding success when they came here in 2005.?
Opening the concert will be Bermuda?s own ?Ilha Verde?.
Tickets ($50) are available at the Music Box, and the price includes a reception with refreshments in City Hall foyer from 7 p.m. For further information ( 295-4839.
