Triple Cream -- Henry VIII

Variety is the spice of life and if you take your spice with Triple Cream you will get plenty of variety.

This trio is the new act at Henry VIII trying to fill the impressive shoes of Jimmy Keys.

And by the reaction of the audience during the first couple of weeks of Triple Cream, Jimmy is now just a part of the restaurant's folklore, like Ann Boleyn.

To be fair, Triple Cream are a completely different prospect assaulting their audience with music, wisecracks and magic tricks.

With a fine reputation for a trio which is fairly young, Brian Greenaway, Harvey Allen and David (Dave) Brock are not just multi-talented but highly talented.

They have had numerous television appearances in the UK and played at many top venues.

Dave appears to be the band leader and he is an excellent keyboard player with his stack of synthesisers. He attempts to keep his rowdy mates in control with little success.

Harvey is the ladies man in Triple Cream, with plenty of risque humour.

Again he is a particularly good musician playing bass guitar and keyboards.

Patrick Swayze look-alike (???) Brian plays drums and the fool with great panache. Brian has a terrific voice which is proven on his renditions of "Unchained Melody'' and "Only You''.

But the real high point of Brian's act is a soon-to-be legendary version of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello''. No further details will be revealed in case it ruins the show for future guests, but this song should not be missed! This is just one of many points in the show where Henry VIII would have been proud of the boys, because they had the audience laughing their heads off.

Triple Cream force their audiences to participate, or "volunteer'', in the fun and games throughout the show.

Their stage act has obviously been developed over many years and does allow for the inclusion of willing or unwilling volunteers. This includes the magic show with card tricks and a clever levitation of Harvey.

Triple Cream are masters of keeping their audiences amused and entertained. If you are not laughing, your foot is tapping to their clever variations of popular songs.

Part of the rhythm of the show is the playing of some metal garbage cans with drum-sticks. If the gombeys are ever short of drummers they can call on Triple Cream.

Henry VIII supremo Andy Allen is delighted with the new recruits to go with his restaurant which is undergoing renovations.

Mr. Allen knew the task when Jimmy Keys decided to leave. He said: "Jimmy is still the best single entertainer I have ever seen. I had to find someone better. I am sure this show is going to be a winner.

"Tourists want this type of entertainment. There is a variety on the Island and this just adds to it.'' ALAN WRIGHT TRIPLE CREAM -- Brian Greenaway, David Brock, and Harvey Allen.
