Bermuda Road Safety Council is set to launch a “Slow Down” campaign, urging drivers to reduce their speed on the roads.

Their announcement today comes on the heels of another road fatality —- the death this morning of 46-year-old Troy Robinson from St George’s who was involved in an collision with another motorcyclist yesterday.

Carlton Crockwell, Chairman of Bermuda Road Safety Council, said: “The message is geared towards encouraging the young and not so young to decrease the speeds on the roads.

“The campaign will be promoted on radio, television, and social media websites.”

Offering the Council’s condolences to the family and friends of Mr Robinson, Mr Crockwell added: “The focus of the BRSC is education — to ensure that our community is informed about road safety matters to make better choices on our roads.

“To this end, we will be launching our new “Slow Down” campaign featuring local musical artists King Cami Cam and Kidd Clazzic this month.

“The Council would like to thank the Bermuda Police Service and encourage them to double their efforts in keeping our roads safe. Their support is appreciated.

“Again, we extend our heartfelt support to the family and friends of the deceased.”
