Lancashire Holdings Ltd. has announced the appointment of Simon Fascione as head of underwriting at its Bermuda operating subsidiary Lancashire Insurance Company Ltd.

He will report to chief underwiting officer Charles Mathias and his title recognises the wide-ranging responsibilities on both the inwards and outwards portfolios and his leading role in both.

Mr. Fascione joined Lancashire in October 2006, having previously worked at Brit Insurance as a reinsurance treaty underwriter.

He has broad underwriting responsibilities but focuses on the property account with an emphasis on excess of loss and retrocessional catastrophic loss protections.
