Covid-19 precautions reminder from City
Residents were asked by the City of Hamilton to follow health guidance to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
A spokeswoman said the reminder came after “the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Bermuda”.
She added: “The City requests all customers coming to reception in City Hall to wear a mask and use the hand sanitiser provided before they can be served.
“Customers are asked to use the front door of City Hall for exit and entry as the rear door of the building has been closed to limit the use of the foyer as a thoroughfare.”
Dwayne Caines, the City’s chief operating officer, said it was “easy to become complacent when our Covid cases were only sporadic”.
But he highlighted a “recent rash” of coronavirus cases that both came to Bermuda from overseas and were transmitted on the island.
Mr Caines said: “We must all do our part to ensure that we are using best practices and being vigilant when it comes to our safety and the safety of others.”
The spokeswoman added: “City workers continue to be issued with the appropriate personal protection equipment to keep them safe on the job and when engaging with the public.
“The City reminds the community that all of its public bathrooms are inspected, replenished and cleaned every two hours.”
