Marsh Bermuda staff give PCC a facelift
A community club now looks like new thanks to the efforts of a team of employees from one of the world's leading insurance brokers.
Almost 30 employees of Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker, risk advisor and captive manager, worked with Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) to clean up the grounds and paint the interior of Pembroke Community Club.
Marsh adopted Pembroke Community Club (PCC) in July 2007 and bought and built a playground in the park in May.
In the latest effort, Marsh employees picked up trash, raked part of the park, painted the interior and cleaned the windows of the Club.
Tin, aluminium and glass that was collected were recycled, as part of Marsh's ongoing involvement in the Recycle Bermuda Partnership Initiative, a Government programme that commits local businesses to increasing recycling awareness and participation within their companies.
"We wanted to continue our involvement with the centre," said Sarah Randall, HR Manager, Marsh Bermuda. "After some of our employees saw how much fun the children were having on the new playground this summer, we were eager to come back and spruce up the park again."
Valerie Dill, President of PCC, added: "PCC is well-used for a variety of activities from martial-arts training to ball hockey to childcare services to seniors dances.
"On behalf of the Board and the many young people who use the facility, I would like to thank Marsh for their efforts.
"They have been doing a remarkable job in helping to keep PCC looking its best."
Rich Lathan, Executive Director of Keep Bermuda Beautiful, said: "I would like to thank Marsh and its employees who have once again come out to volunteer their time and effort to help make Bermuda a more attractive place to live.
"We commend them for their very real and very tangible dedication to the community."
