Students perform festive concert for seniors
Young musicians from Bermuda High School for Girls visited Peace Lutheran Church in Paget to provide some festive entertainment for seniors.
The year six bell choir and wind ensemble played Christmas carols to a packed house, before being treated to drinks and cookies after the performance.
Persis Butler, activities co-coordinator at Peace Lutheran Church, said: “We always look forward to the Bermuda High School children entertaining us at this time of year. They come and perform beautifully.”
Organiser Adrienne Jones added: “All our seniors look forward to the children playing. They really brighten up our day.”
Under the direction of their music teachers Sally Crawford and Derek Tully, the children performed tunes including ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Away in a Manger’, ‘Jolly Old St Nicholas’, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ and ‘Silent Night’.
The concert last Wednesday ended with the seniors singing along to ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’.
