Commercial League play on Wednesday saw AICO defeat Arthur Anderson 12-10 in a game that went two extra innings.
Austin John and Reece Bartley were the hitting stars for AICO with the former driving in four runs going 2-for-4 and Bartley bringing two as he went 3-for-5. Michael Hoss and Witold Bzdel both went 3-for-4 for the losers.
Sanford Seepersad was the winning pitcher while Martha Bzdel suffered the loss.
Another tight game saw Sousa's Lawncare and Design beat Tropical Breezers 11-10 with George Corday going 3-for-3 and Steve Perry 2-for-4. Gavin Stevens and Paul Moniz both went 3-for-4 for the losers. John Fryer got the win and Lee Cruz took the loss.
There was also a close result in the third game with St. David's County edging Bacardi 14-13 behind Hedley Furbert and Michael Glasford who both went 3-for-4. Roger Cash went 2-for-4 for Bacardi. Michael Glasford was the winning pitcher and Ianthia Butler the loser for the east enders.

BOXING BOX Promoter Eddy DeMello yesterday confirmed that National Sports Club has been added as a venue for tomorrow's Grand Slam of Boxing due to the closure of Scandal nightclub. Tickets for Scandal will be honoured at Nationals with other venues for the closed-circuit telecast being the BAA clubhouse and Prison Officers Recreation Club.
GOLF GLF A total of 64 teams have signed up to compete in the Mid Ocean Club's annual Founder's Trophy golf tournament starting on Monday.
Included in this list are three time winners Charles Hartnett and Bill McCall, as are 1991/92 gross champions Michael Dunkley and Paul Evans.
Unfortunately, last year's overall winners Tom Stearns and Allan Leyland are unavailable, but this should make the event no less exciting for the viewing public.
