E&C claimed the top team series of 2,101 and then tied with Dolphins for the second high game of 741. Marie Frith of E&C claimed the top series and game of 608 and 213 while she also had a 202 second high game. For D&D Rollers, Antoinette DeCouto rolled the second high women's series of 545.

Second-placed Untouchables also slipped when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Dolphins who were led by Kevin Minors' top series 611 and third high game 215 for the men.

Untouchables had a third high series of 1,983 while Vivian Griffiths led their cause with the third high women's series of 521. Richard Grant of Dolphins rolled the second high game of 222.

Mix Ups bowled the top game 778 and second high series 2,042 on their way to a 31 -1 win over B's & G's. Jessie Brangman of Mix Ups had a top men's game of 245 while Anthony Smith rolled a 556 third high series Steve Wales' second high men's series 583 failed to prevent Strikers from going down 21 -11 to Last Minutes while in the other match Troublemakers beat Dynamic Four 3-1 with Helena Rawlins rolling a 192 game for the winners.

Kevin Minors turned in the second high series and game of 563 and 225 to help leaders Buy & Sell to a 16-11 win over second-placed Pembroke Juniors in the top match in the Mott's Sportsmen's League.

Dean Lightbourne's top series and game of 651 and 265 failed to lead Juniors to victory as they also claimed the second high team game of 919 while Buy & Sell had the third high series and game of 2,553 and 913.

Third-placed Sparks failed to close the gap on Pembroke Juniors as they were edged out 14-13 by Mini Forwarders, fourth. Sparks topped the teams honours lists with a 2,592 series and 930 game. Dudley Browne of Mini Forwarders had a 551 third high series.

Both Warwick teams won with the Whites beating bottom team Young Blood 22-5 and the Reds getting by Social Club 15-12 in a closer match. Warwick Reds claimed the second high team series of 2,561 as Leon Smith led them with his third high game of 223. Leroy Ming had a 548 series for the Reds.

HARNESS RACING RAH Harness pony racing continues on Sunday at Vesey Street with 16 races starting at 1 p.m.

There will be three or four ponies in each race and since Eddie The Great has moved up into the top time bar the free-for-all has been tremendously exciting. On New Year's Day Nateway, the track record-holder, started the race in the fourth hole but managed to pass everyone and win -- just.

However, Eddie The Great and Catch A Fire have a lot of potential and are also three years younger than Nateway.

Quite a few of ponies are on winning streaks at the moment; J.B.'s T.W. Bell with Fernando Rego, Bermuda Warrior with Murray Terceira, Sandtrap with John Flood and Meadow Rose with Francis DeSilva.

However, the faster times they get the more they are handicapped by being placed in positions on the rail. The slowest pony in the bar gains the advantage of starting on the rail. On the Vesey Street track this is a huge advantage.

SOFTBALL SOF Business Systems Ltd. beat Advertising Associates 30-15 in a high-scoring `D' Division match on Tuesday at Bernard Park as Graham Pearson led the winners with two-for-three and Richard Miller went three-for-five.

For the losers Nigel Pichery went two-for-three and Richard Adlam four-for-five.

The second match of the night saw Centre Re beat PTB 15-6 with Scott Roberts having a perfect three-for-three for the winners and Randy Brangman hitting two home runs in his two-for-four in a losing cause.

Runs also flowed in the final match of the night as Butterfield & Steinhoff beat Alexander Insurance 25-15 with Trevor Brooks and Darren Budd both going four-for-five for the winners and John Hately and Roddy Gray three-for-four for the losers.

GOLF GLF The Bermuda Professional Golfers Association will hold its stroke play championship at Castle Habour Golf Club from January 12-15, sponsored by Ashworth.

The BPGA will use the time to also hold a qualifying tournament. All those interested in qualifying for a BPGA card can contact Kevin Benevides at Castle Harbour GC.

Somerset Bridge Recreation Club will hold a tournament at Castle Harbour on Sunday for the Walter Cross Memorial Trophy. There will be a shot-gun start at 7 a.m.

CRICKET CRI Young Men's Social Club will hold a meeting tomorrow for all players and anyone interested in joining the club next season. There will be a training session on Sunday. A venue has yet to be decided but interested persons can call Webster Mills at 234-8366.

ROAD RUNNING RUN Entry fees for those non-members of Mid Atlantic Athletic Club wishing to participate in Sunday's Princess to Princess road race is $10 and not $15 as was stated in yesterday paper. The $15 fee is the new yearly BTFA membership.

SOCCER SOC A training session will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. for all Dandy Town Mini-Minors, Minors and Bantams at St. John's field.
