Workmen are due to convert outbuildings alongside the Cabinet building to acommodate extra staff now required as a result of the Civil Service Review.

Plans have been approved to renovate buildings known as Garden Cottage, directly next to the Cabinet office itself.

They will be used for staff needed by the Cabinet office following recommendations from a review of the civil service. It is understood up to three people will be housed there.

The plans, although they appeared by mistake under the planning notices listed in the Bermuda Sun on Friday, have already been approved.

Discretion given to the director of planning under the new General Development Order allows certain small applications and additions to be passed without being advertised and going to the planning board.
