DanceSations all ready to stage summer dance recital
Ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop dance are a great source of entertainment. DanceSations performers have been practicing many styles of dance and are ready to present what they have learned.DanceSations dance school will be hosting its seventh annual summer dance recital on August 31 at the Earl Cameron Theatre in the City Hall. Many creative forms of expressions will be featured at the summer showcase. DanceSations director Holly Pacheco said: “Our annual summer dance showcase is a jam-packed recital full of energy and surprises. Our summer programme runs for nine weeks and concludes with our show. The show features dancers of all ages from three years to adults. This year our Junior Company will also be performing. The teachers and dancers have been working very hard in preparation for their performance.”While there is no specific theme to limit their creativity the dance students will perform to various songs of different genres, both old and new. Ms Pacheco said: “The show will feature many styles of dance such as ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop. We also have two all boys’ classes performing hip-hop/break dancing which are quite popular.”The showcase promises to be entertaining and exciting. The director expressed: “Anyone coming to watch can be expected to be entertained for the whole show It’s not your typical dance recital. It’s very exciting and we are also interactive with the crowd. The show will also feature a variety of dances and also a piece choreographed by our amazing teachers (Sierra-Renae DeSilva, Dominique Willis, Shaydrina Hassell, Jalesa Young, Rikkai Scott, and Arnario Shillingford) and local and international choreographer Eric Bean Jr, founder of Jarrico Dance. There are also guest performances by the popular “Bermuda Squad”.”DanceSations dancers have an opportunity for exposure to express themselves with their creativity. Ms Pacheco said: “We hope to showcase the talents of our dance school as well as providing an outlet for dancers to showcase their creativity and passion for dance. With this being a transition year we would also like the public to know that DanceSations is now open as a full-time dance school.”Blessed with a new studio the dancers have been able to grow and develop in their talents. She continues: “It’s exciting to see the development of our dancers to where they are right now. I feel like they are all my children. DanceSations will have two shows on Saturday, August 31 at 2pm and 7pm.
