Symphony of strings on steps of City Hall
Pupils from the Bermuda School of Music brought some Christmas cheer to Hamilton yesterday with a performance outside City Hall.
A spokeswoman for the school said the pupils usually performed at the cancelled Bermuda National Trust Walkabout and wanted to try something different.
She said: “The kids wanted to spread a little cheer since everyone has had such a strange year.
“This year the Walkabout didn’t happen, so we had to find somewhere else to do it, and we were very grateful to the City of Hamilton to allow it.”
She said the group of 30 – aged between seven and 15 – played a medley of Christmas carols along with a few pieces of classical music for around half an hour to an audience of parents and shoppers.
The spokeswoman said performances by the youngsters were restricted this year because of the pandemic and they were pleased to get the opportunity to show off their talents.
