On Saturday, May 11, 2002, Tina Renee DeVent daughter of Mr. & Mrs. David DeVent graduated from Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Tina attended Elliott Primary School and the Berkeley Institute. Attending the graduation were her parents, her sister, Tasha, grandmother, Millicent Brown, Uncle Thomas and Aunt June Famous. Also in attendance from abroad, were her cousin Roslyn Famous of Puerto Rico, cousin Daishaunte' Williams of Maryland, Charles and Antoinette Jeffers and their children Courtney and Arrington Jeffers and Theresa and Alexia Christopher of Atlanta. In the fall of 2003, Tina plans to return to A&M to pursue a masters degree in Social Work.
