Lister denies tension between Ministries over Berkeley project
Education Minister Terry Lister has refuted a VSB news story which aired on Thursday night concerning the Berkeley Senior School project.
The newscast suggested that there has been discord in Cabinet over the second senior secondary school project but on Friday Education Minister Terry Lister said that suggestion was ?completely untrue?.
?We are working well with the Ministry of Works and Engineering to bring the construction phase of this project to a close,? he said.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the claim by VSB Radio and Television that Mr. Lister had sided with the Berkeley PTSA?s alleged position that students should not be moved into the school until September, 2006 was also completely untrue.
?I can assure the public that I have not ?locked horns? with the Works and Engineering Minister over the school project. Such unsubstantiated reports are distressing and confusing to the general public,? he said.
