FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3: Bermuda's MPs unanimously approved legislation intended to remove a potential stumbling block for the completion of the census.
The Statistics Ammendment Act 2010 allows Premier Paula Cox to extend the deadline for the census without needing the approval of the House of Assembly.
MP’s also passed the Base Lands Redevelopment Act 2010, which extends the maximum lease on all former bases, including Daniel’s Head, Morgan’s Point and Southside.
The legislation doubles the maximum lease duration from 131 years to 262 years.
