New Life church to stage major revival

Inspiring: Rev. Dr. Victor Price and his wife Mrs. Ayana Price

The recently renamed New Life Church of the Nazarene celebrated 48 years as part of the Smith's Parish community last week. Their mission to be a light to the Collector's Hill area (where they are located) continues with a revival campaign that takes place from October 28 to November 1.

Reverend Ernest Peets Jr. is justifiably excited with the guest speaker and artists who will be leading out the campaign. "We hope to revitalise the local congregation in ministry to each other and the community," Ernest explains: "We want to be a viable ministry opportunity to those who are looking for the Lord in this community".

Although the Nazarene church doesn't have as large a presence as some other denominations, Rev. Peets emphasises that they are a part of the Evangelical movement in Bermuda and they are glad to love the Lord. New Life has "open doors to anyone who wants to know more about the Lord".

As this is the first revival that has taken place in eight years at this location, the Rev. Dr. Victor Price will be ministering during the revival. Rev. Price is the minister at the vibrant, historical Second Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Rev. Price has served as pastor to several congregations of the Church of the Nazarene in the Caribbean and United States and has ministered in various world areas in English and in French Creole. He has also hosted and taught several leadership training seminars for various denominations training church leaders for effective and efficient ministry.

He is active in a weekly collaborative ministry that fosters the participation of clergy, police, juvenile justice and street workers in addressing youth violence and gang intervention.

Rev. Price will be accompanied by the husband and wife singing duo, "Devoted", who will share God's love through music.

Edmund and Gisela Bullock's music is described as being "original, their ministry powerful, and their dedication to one another – real". Edmund and Gisela believe they are called not just to sing, but to share with others the love God has given between them, on stage and off.

In addition, college students at the Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts did their own fund-raising to join Rev. Price on this trip. They are coming to assist in the services and participate in the cross-cultural evangelism.

It's possible that they will go even further than Smith's Parish by visiting the prisons and some nursing homes in order to broaden their horizons when it comes to their ministry.

Services will be held nightly at 7 and on Sunday at 10.30 am. All are welcome. Call 236-5694 or email pastorpeets@pray.bm for more information.
