Six jobs cut at KeyTech
Six jobs have been lost at Key Management Services (KMS), the company confirmed yesterday.Three managers and three line staff, one of them a part-time employee, were let go.Leslie Rans, chief financial officer of parent company the KeyTech Group, confirmed the job losses yesterday.“In the first quarter of 2010 the KeyTech group embarked on an intensive inward examination of its subsidiaries and has systematically made adjustments based on the current business and economic climate, the correct mix of numbers and skillsets of employees to task, as well as technological advances,” Ms Rans said.“As a result KeyTech is continuously reviewing our operating procedures and are realising efficiencies as a result of technological advances.“Recent reviews of KeyManagement Services Ltd (KMS) have resulted in six persons being made redundant - three managers and three line staff (one of which was part time).”The job losses are the latest in a series of staff cuts by the telecommunications group, which includes the Bermuda Telephone Company and Logic Communications and whose M3 Wireless division this year merged with CellularOne to form Cell-One.Early retirement and redundancy costs for KeyTech totalled $4.4 million in the company’s 2010/11 fiscal year.
